Training groups at sign-up

ONLINE REGISTRATION Reading time : 5 min Updated September 16, 2026
Your public page and your sign-up form can show your training groups with their weekly slots (U16, Friday 18:30 to 20:00, Jean-Moulin gym). A future member picks the group they would like to join; the coach or an admin confirms the request. The club keeps deciding who trains where, and the registration is never blocked by the request.

What future members see

On your public page, every listed group shows its weekly slots. A group open to requests carries a Join this group button that opens the sign-up form with that group preselected. On the form, in the Membership step, a Training group (optional) block lists the open groups; the person picks one or lets the club offer one.

Picking a group is a request, not an assignment. The form says so in plain words: your request is reviewed by the coach or the club. Nothing changes for a club that does not want this: by default no group is open to requests.

1. Open a group to requests

  1. Go to Settings → Member sign-up, card Training groups at sign-up.
  2. For each group choose Hidden (not shown publicly), Visible (shown with its slots, the default) or Open to requests (shown and requestable).
  3. Set a capacity if you wish (say 16). When the roster reaches it, the group reads Full. Without a capacity a group is never full.
  4. The Keep a waiting list when a group is full box applies to the whole club. Ticked, a full group keeps taking requests, which wait. Unticked, a full group stops taking requests: the button disappears, the word Full stays.

Every setting saves on its own: when a course fills up, switch it from Open to Visible in one click and the public page follows within the minute.

2. Where the slots come from

You never enter anything twice. The slots shown are read from each group's recurring sessions (Teams → the group → Plan a recurring session) over the next 8 weeks. A series of every Friday 18:30 to 20:00 at the gym becomes the line Friday 18:30 to 20:00 · Gym. A group with no planned session shows no slot. One-off sessions do not count.

3. Review a request

  1. Every request rings the bell for the club admins and for the group's coach (when they have a Paak account and are named as this group's coach). The message reads Application for a group, or Application on the waiting list when the group is full.
  2. The bell opens the Requests to join [the group] page. It lists each request with the membership chosen and its payment state, and reminds you of the roster (14 / 16 on the roster).
  3. Three buttons: Accept adds the person to the group's roster and emails them their weekly slots; Waiting list keeps the request without assigning it; Decline sets it aside for this group.

Only the club admins and the group's coach can decide. An accepted member appears at once in attendance, convocations and the member portal, like any member added to the group by hand.

4. Payment, declines and the waiting list

The group request never touches the membership fee. The member pays at sign-up as usual; where the club takes online payments, Pay later stays on offer. A declined or waiting request blocks nothing: the registration stands, the member gets an email saying so, and the admins get a reminder to offer another group. Any refund remains the club's decision, as today.

FAQ

Can a member put themselves in a group?
No. They ask; the coach or an admin accepts. Until the request is accepted they appear on no roster. Same principle as before: the club decides who trains where, the request only saves an email exchange.
Why is the request for a group rather than a single slot?
In Paak a group (a team) carries its slots: U16 trains Tuesday and Friday. Asking for U16 Friday means asking for the U16 group. If your club runs a Friday-only course, create it as its own group with its own session series.
What is a full group?
A group whose roster reaches the capacity you set. The roster counts the group's current members, never archived ones: a departure frees a spot by itself.
Does the family sign-up offer the groups too?
Yes: in the Register my family form each child has a Training group (optional) menu with the same open groups. Each child makes their own request, reviewed separately.
Is this limited to a plan?
No, open groups, capacity, the waiting list and the review page exist on every plan. Choosing which sections the public page shows remains Paak One and Paak Pro.
