Software for archery clubs

Recurve, barebow and compound are not scored the same way.

An archery club runs several bows under one roof, each with its own match rule. Paak handles the club admin (members, dues, compliance) and scores arrow by arrow: the bow class decides the set system (recurve, barebow) or the cumulative total (compound). You configure nothing per shot.

  • Set system vs cumulative: the scoreboard follows each archer's bow class
  • Arrow-by-arrow entry: M, 1 to 10, or X; in a 5-5 shoot-off, the X beats a plain 10
  • Safeguarding tracked: coaches followed, reminders before expiry

01 · The scoreboard

The archery score, arrow by arrow.

Not a generic counter. You enter each arrow's value (M for a miss, 1 to 10, X for the inner 10). Paak adds up the end, keeps the count of 10s and Xs for tie-breaks, and resolves the match by bow class.

  • Set system (recurve, barebow): 5 ends of 3 arrows, 2 points per set won, first to 6
  • Cumulative (compound): the arrow total decides, not sets
  • 5-5 shoot-off: a single arrow, closest to the centre wins, an X beats a 10
  • End-by-end breakdown plus undo of the last end in one tap

02 · Archer profile & performance

An archer profile made for the bow.

Bow class, draw length, draw weight, dominant eye, coach: the fields an archery club fills in, not those of a team sport. Every match feeds the averages.

  • Bow class: recurve, compound, barebow or traditional / longbow
  • Federal progression: feathers, then the white, black, blue, red and gold arrow
  • Draw length, draw weight, dominant eye: an over-bowed archer is the first mistake in juniors, the profile makes it visible
  • Automatic metrics: tens per match, inner tens per match, fed by the scoreboard

  • Automatic email call-ups with RSVP
  • Attendance and availability tracking
  • Volunteer management (welcome desk, transport, scoring table)
  • Medical certificates and FFTA licences

The match log

The score, World Archery's rule.

No invented stats: each arrow's value, and the resolution that fits the bow class. The bow class is the discipline, and it alone decides the scoring system.

SETSRecurve & barebow

  • 5 ends of 3 arrows per archer
  • Higher end total = 2 set points (1 each on a tie)
  • First to 6 points wins the match
  • At 5-5, a single-arrow shoot-off (X beats 10)

CUMULATIVECompound

  • 15 arrows, the total decides
  • No set points: the raw score
  • Tie broken by the arrow closest to the centre
  • Switches automatically by bow class

The whole club

An archery club is not just an 18 m hall.

Target, field, Beursault: Paak handles the archer whatever the discipline practised, and it knows the traditional archery game no generic tool serves.

Target

An 18 m hall in winter, outdoor shooting in summer. The qualification round and the head-to-head elimination matches.

Field & 3D

Field, 3D and nature: unmarked distances, targets in the forest and 3D animals. A different way to shoot, same club.

Beursault

The traditional French archery game, with its honours and points. A French specificity no generic SaaS recognises.

Training

Archery sessions ready to run.

Paak ships a library of 30 archery drills in French, English and German, sorted by theme and adapted by age band. The session generator assembles them into a warm-up, main blocks and a game.

Posture & hold Shot sequence Aiming & control Release & follow-through Grouping Field & 3D Mental & routine Physical
From cub to senior
  • Age-banded: each drill carries its bands (U9 to senior), with blank-bale and posture work for beginners
  • Method-based: shot sequence, blank-bale, clicker control, holding endurance, shoulder prehab
  • Trilingual: the session exists in French, English and German, like the rest of Paak
The archer profile

A complete archer profile.

The fields specific to the bow, plus federal progression and licences. The metrics fill in match after match.

Bow class

Recurve, compound, barebow, traditional / longbow. It is also the discipline that decides the score.

Progression

Feathers, then the white, black, blue, red and gold arrow. The FFTA progression on the profile.

Draw length & weight

Draw length in cm, draw weight in lbs. The over-bowed archer spotted before it hurts technique.

Dominant eye

Right or left. The detail that shapes posture and the choice of bow.

FFTA licence

Number, category (U11 to S3), medical certificate. Automatic alert before expiry.

Auto metrics

Tens per match, inner tens per match. Fed by the scoreboard.

The FFTA extranet + Paak: complementary, not competing.

The FFTA runs licences, affiliation and official competitions through its extranet. You keep it. Paak does not replace the federal portal: Paak adds what the extranet does not cover in a club's day-to-day.

Frequently asked questions

Is the recurve set system really handled?

Yes. The scoreboard counts every end: three arrows per end, the higher end total wins 2 set points (1 each on a tie), first to 6 points. At 5-5 Paak opens a single-arrow shoot-off, the arrow closest to the centre wins, and an X (the inner 10) beats a plain 10. Barebow follows the same set system.

And compound?

Compound is not scored in sets but cumulatively: the running total over 15 arrows decides the match. Paak switches automatically based on the archer's bow class, so you never pick a mode by hand.

Do you really enter the score arrow by arrow?

Yes. For each arrow you tap its value: M (miss), 1 to 10, or X for the inner 10. Paak adds up the end, keeps the count of 10s and Xs for tie-breaks, and shows the end-by-end breakdown. Live scoring is part of Paak Pro.

Does the bow class change the score?

Yes, and it is the heart of the model. The bow class is the discipline: recurve and barebow shoot the set system, compound the cumulative total. Each archer carries their bow class, and the match loads the right rule. You configure nothing per shot.

Are FFTA licences and progression handled?

Yes. Licence number, age category (U11, U13, U15, U18, U21, S1, S2, S3), medical certificate with an alert before expiry, and the federal progression on the archer profile (feathers, then the white, black, blue, red and gold arrow). Manual entry or CSV import.

Are there training drills for archery?

Yes. Paak ships a library of 30 archery drills in French, English and German, sorted by theme (posture, shot sequence, aiming and control, release, grouping, field, mental, physical) and adapted by age band (U9 to senior). The session generator assembles them into a warm-up, main blocks and a game.

Are target, field and Beursault recognised?

Yes. An archery club is more than an 18 m hall: Paak handles the archer across every discipline, target (indoor and outdoor), field and 3D, and Beursault, the traditional French archery game that no generic tool knows. Bow class and the sessions carry the discipline practised.
