What Paak covers for swimming

Pool, open water, relays, measures — four pillars.

A single performance profile covers every event: the statistics useful to pool and open water are the same (time, split times, stroke count). The swimmer profile records the primary stroke, the distances practised and the personal bests.

Pool

50m, 100m, 200m, 400m, 800m, 1500m. Every stroke, every meet — from club level to the French championships.

Stats: time · split times · reaction time · stroke count
Open water

Races on a lake, sea or river. Same swimmer profile, same personal bests — the swimmer’s primary stroke doesn’t change with the environment.

Covers: long distances · navigation · open water championships
Relays

4×100m, 4×200m, 4×100m medley. Team line-up by relay order: first / second / third / anchor.

Formation: RELAY 4 positions · seeded on the profile
Performance measures

Time, split times, reaction time and stroke count logged every session, alongside the personal best on the swimmer’s profile.

Profile: primary stroke · wingspan · personal best · ENF stage

Every time lives on the profile.

Every session logs the swimmer’s time, split times, reaction time and stroke count. The personal best per event is entered on the profile, in MM:SS.ms format — the technical measure stays where the whole team can see it, no separate app needed.

  • Time & split times — every lap, every turn
  • Reaction time & stroke count logged per session
  • Personal best per event, entered on the profile — MM:SS.ms format
  • Wingspan + other measurements on the physical profile
05 · Background checks & compliance

French loi du 8 mars 2024 — checked for you.

Every swimming coach, volunteers included, must be able to prove their background-check status (honorabilité). Paak tracks each person’s status, alerts before expiry and generates the export in the SI Honorabilité format — with an audit log that stands up to scrutiny.

  • Status per staff member — valid / expiring soon / expired
  • Automatic reminders before each expiry
  • CSV export in the federation’s SI Honorabilité format
  • Licences and medical certificates on the same profile

FFN ENF — 2024 reform

From Aquatic Confidence to the Gold Water Sports Pass.

The post-2024-reform École de Natation Française is built in as a field on the youth profile. Five federal tiers, from the initial Sauv’nage to the Gold Pass’Compétition. The SNS (safe swimming certificate) is mandatory before any first competition for under-10s — Paak records the milestone, so the coach knows who can enter at the next departmental meet.

Alongside the ENF, the primary discipline (freestyle, breaststroke, backstroke, butterfly, individual medley — 23 selectable events) stays visible on the same profile. The coach keeps the full trajectory: from the first kick in the water to the first start in a regional competition.

A word from the founder

“I was lucky enough to learn rugby at the school of Stade Français — a great multi-sport club, in the heart of Paris, where volunteers kept the machine running. Most amateur clubs don’t have that structure behind them. Paak exists for the others: the same tools, whatever the size of the club.”

Frequently asked questions

Does Paak handle both pool and open water?

Yes. Pool (50m to 1500m, short and long distances) and open water (races on a lake, sea or river) share the same performance profile — the statistics useful to both are identical: total time, split times, reaction time, stroke count. The swimmer’s primary stroke and preferred event are recorded on their profile.

Which strokes and events are recognised?

Five strokes: freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke, butterfly, individual medley. Nine events in the profile picklist: 50m, 100m, 200m, 400m, 800m, 1500m, plus the 4×100m, 4×200m and 4×100m medley relays. A swimmer can select their primary stroke and several events.

What is the SWOLF score in Paak?

SWOLF (SWim gOLF) is a measure of technical efficiency: lap time + stroke count. The lower the score, the better the swim. Paak records its two ingredients — the time and the stroke count entered during a session — directly on the swimmer’s profile, alongside the personal best and the split times.

How does Paak handle FFN licences?

The Fédération Française de Natation is recognised in the Paak federation registry (default validity: 12 months). Each member carries their licence and medical certificate on their profile. The compliance dashboard alerts before every expiry.

How much does Paak cost for a swimming club?

Free up to 100 members, with no time limit. Paak One at 29 €/month and Paak Pro at 99 €/month for larger clubs. Same price whatever the sport.
