What Paak does for your club

Built for hockey, not retrofitted at the last minute.

Hockey has its own vocabulary. Faceoffs, +/-, hits, power plays, graduated penalties. Paak understands them natively — not in a future update.

Live match journal, 3 periods of 20 minutes

The coach or team manager starts the tracker from the bench. Once the puck drops, every action is captured in one tap. The clock handles periods, stoppages and the unlimited "on-the-fly" substitutions used in every official league.

  • 3 periods of 20 minutes — automatic clocks
  • Unlimited substitutions (hockey rule, not football)
  • Paired +/− buttons per player for the on-ice differential
  • Direct link to the player profile and the current season
Ice hockey live match tracker in Paak — live points (G+A), the assist picker on a goal (maximum two, like the official game sheet), signed plus/minus and graduated penalties

The 9 statistics hockey actually counts

Not 30 useless stats. The 9 measures that define a hockey player, updated every match and aggregated per season + career. Goalies get their metrics (saves, shots against, save percentage), skaters get theirs (+/-, hits, blocks).

  • Goals and assists — the basis of points (G+A)
  • +/-: on the ice for goals for and against
  • Shots on goal, hits, blocked shots
  • Faceoff wins (centers only)
  • Saves and save percentage (goalies)

The 9 statistics · player rating

Every action carries weight in the player rating.

Paak assigns each stat a rating impact (from 0.5 to 3 points). Goals and saves carry the most weight; faceoffs and hits weigh less, but count. The rating is computed match-by-match — readable, not opaque.

Goals
+3.0 Major
The defining event. Highest weight in the rating.
Assists
+2.0 Strong
Logged alongside the goal, in the same play sequence.
+/-
+1.0 Moderate
+1 for every on-ice goal for, −1 for every on-ice goal against.
Shots on goal
+0.5 Light
Offensive creation — credit, whether the shot scores or not.
Hits
+0.5 Light
Legal body contact — defensive + physical element of the game.
Blocked shots
+0.5 Light
Defensive sacrifice — saves a scoring chance.
Saves (goalies)
+2.0 Strong
Goalie metric — feeds the save percentage.
Shots against (goalies)
0 Informational
Denominator of the save percentage (saves / shots against). Does not affect the rating.
Faceoff wins
+0.5 Light
Centerman metric — possession from the drop.
Penalties — full hockey grid

Four tiers. Four consequences. No ambiguity.

Hockey has a unique penalty system: minor, major, misconduct, game misconduct. Paak handles all four natively — each penalty is recorded live and attributed to the player, with a rating impact and automatic ejection on game misconduct. The penalty-bench clock stays with the scorekeeper's table.

2'
Minor
Slashing, holding, hooking, spearing… 2 minutes shorthanded. Rating: −1.
5'
Major
High-sticking, boarding, fighting. Full 5 minutes served. Rating: −3.
10'
Misconduct
Unsportsmanlike conduct, abusing an official. 10 min but team stays at 5. Rating: −4.
M
Game misconduct
Ejection — player leaves the rink. No rating for the match. Rating: −5. Max 1 per player.
Standard 5-on-5 formation

Six players on the ice. Each in their place inside Paak.

Default formation: 1 goaltender + 2 defensemen (left, right) + 3 forwards (left wing, center, right wing). During a match, penalties can take a team down to 3 skaters plus the goaltender — Paak handles those situations without breaking.

G
Goaltender
Save percentage aggregated across the season
LD
Left defenseman
Left side of the defensive and offensive zones
RD
Right defenseman
Right side — mirror of the LD
LW
Left wing
Attack on the left flank
C
Center
Central player — takes the faceoffs (dedicated metric)
RW
Right wing
Attack on the right flank
Federation · honest positioning

Paak complements your federation's tools. Never replaces them.

Your official competitions stay with your federation — Synerglace Ligue Magnus / D1 / D2 / D3 / Féminin Élite / Coupe de France in France (FFHG), National League / Sky Swiss League / MyHockey League / PostFinance Women's League in Switzerland (SIHF), IIHF tournaments internationally. Paak does what they don't.

What your federation does (and continues to do): individual federation licences, official competition calendars, official rankings, refereeing, anti-doping, national-team programmes, coach + referee training (CQP AHG, DEJEPS, DESJEPS in France; equivalent national diploma frameworks elsewhere).

What Paak adds (and your federation doesn't): the day-to-day life of the club between official matches — members and their payments, training attendance, statistics match-by-match, communications by team / by category, RSVP convocations, multi-team and multi-season under a single dashboard. For French clubs specifically: loi du 8 mars 2024 coaching-staff background-check compliance with automatic 30/14/7-day expiry alerts.

FFHG (France) is in the Paak federation registry under code FFHG. SIHF (Switzerland) is also in the registry (code SIHF). When you validate your club's affiliation in Paak, a canonical licence type is generated automatically — nothing to reconfigure.

8 March 2024 law · president's liability (France)

Background-check compliance isn't optional. Paak makes it manageable.

For French clubs, the 8 March 2024 law makes club presidents personally liable for the honorabilité (background-check) status of staff in contact with minors. In hockey, that covers coaches, team officials, volunteer referees and anyone in regular contact with the club's youth categories — from the école de hockey to U7, U9, U11, U13, U15, U18 and U20 (FFHG 2025/26 nomenclature).

Paak tracks each staff member's certification date and sends alerts 30, 14 and 7 days before expiry — by email to the staff member and a notification to the president. One-click CSV export in the French ministry format (SI Honorabilité, FIJAISV).

Frequently asked questions

Does Paak replace federation tools (FFHG, SIHF, IIHF)?

No. Paak is complementary to your federation's tools. Your federation licences and official competitions stay with your federation. Paak manages what federations don't: members, payments, training attendance, individual statistics, communications, and (for French clubs) loi du 8 mars 2024 child-protection compliance.

Which clubs is Paak suited for?

Every level: amateur regional clubs, youth sections (U7 to U20 in France; U18/U21 elite in Switzerland), women's teams, top-tier clubs. The Pro tier suits clubs in Ligue Magnus / National League / equivalents that want live tracking on every match. The One tier covers most clubs (up to 500 members).

Does the tracker work rink-side during a match?

Yes. Paak works in a mobile browser (iPhone / Android via Safari or Chrome) — nothing to install. You start the match from the bench, tap actions as they happen, the clock manages periods and stoppages.

What's the loi du 8 mars 2024?

A 2024 French law that makes club presidents personally liable for verifying the background-check status (honorabilité) of coaching staff in contact with minors. It applies to French clubs only. Paak tracks each staff member's certification date and sends automatic alerts at 30, 14, and 7 days before expiry — by email to the staff member and notification to the president. CSV export in the French ministry format (SI Honorabilité / FIJAISV) is one click.

Where does my club data live?

100% European infrastructure: hosting at OVHcloud Gravelines (France), payments via Mollie (Netherlands), authentication via Hanko (Berlin), email via Brevo (Paris). Zero transfer outside the EU. GDPR-native, Swiss nLPD compatible, public-procurement ready.

Are ice sports beyond hockey supported (figure skating, speed skating, bobsleigh)?

Yes — engine shipped May 2026. Three separate sport codes to respect the archetypes: ICES (figure skating, ice dance, synchronized skating, ice ballet — JUDGED archetype), ICER (long-track + short-track speed skating — TIMED archetype), SLID (bobsleigh, luge, skeleton — TIMED archetype, La Plagne is the only competitive sliding venue in France). Ice hockey stays on the HOCK code with FFHG / SIHF as governing federations.
