Software that ACTUALLY speaks basketball
Paak already handles your members, payments and teams. For basketball, it goes further: live 5v5 scoring (2pt / 3pt / free throws distinctly), auto foul-out at 5 personal fouls, PG/SG/SF/PF/C positions, federation licence tracking.
Basketball has its own mechanics
A generic spreadsheet treats a basket like a football goal: one unit. Wrong. A 3-pointer is worth 3, a free throw is 1, and auto foul-out at 5 personal fouls changes bench management. Paak encodes these rules natively.
5v5, 4 quarters of 10 min
FIBA standard format: 5 on-court players, 4 periods of 10 minutes, unlimited substitutions. Paak is configured for this format natively, not a compressed football match.
3 shot types, 3 values
2 points (inside the arc), 3 points (beyond the arc), 1 point (free throw). Paak tracks them separately and calculates the total automatically. No post-game spreadsheet entry.
Fouls: auto foul-out at 5
5 personal fouls = automatic ejection from the game (FIBA rule). Paak alerts you at 4, blocks the player at 5. Technical fouls count double (2 = out). Flagrant = immediate ejection.
Federation licences and qualifications
Licence number, age category, referee grade, coach certifications. All tracked inside Paak — not in a separate spreadsheet.
Live scoring: 2pt, 3pt, free throws
During the game, one tap records a 2-pointer, 3-pointer, or free throw. Each action is attributed to the player with the team score updated automatically. Rebounds, assists, steals, blocks, turnovers: all trackable in one tap from your phone.
| Action | Value | Tracked in Paak |
|---|---|---|
| 2-point basket | 2 pts | Shooter, position, quarter |
| 3-point basket | 3 pts | Shooter, distance, quarter |
| Free throw | 1 pt | Shooter, made/missed, per-game total |
| Rebound | — | Attributed to player, offensive/defensive |
| Assist | — | Point guard's key stat, highlighted |
| Steal + block | — | Per-player defensive stats |
| Turnover | − | Attributed to player (negative rating impact) |
Fouls: progression + automatic ejection
Paak tracks fouls per player and per team. The 5-foul ejection is triggered automatically, with a preventive alert at the 4th foul.
| Foul type | Consequence |
|---|---|
| PERSPersonal foul | 1-3: minor. 4: Paak alert. 5: automatic ejection. |
| TECHTechnical foul | Behavioural sanction. Counts double in the cumulative. 2 technicals = ejection. |
| FLAGFlagrant foul | Intentional dangerous contact. 3-point rating penalty. Max 2 per player, the 2nd triggers a suspension. |
The 5 basketball positions
Each position has its own key metrics. A point guard isn't evaluated on the same stats as a centre. Paak adapts the profile.
Pre-configured lineups
Standard (5 classic positions)
PG + SG + SF + PF + C. The traditional lineup with a centre in the low post and two wings. Default on any new match.
In Paak: Position set per player, key stats foregrounded by role.
Small Ball (fast-paced)
PG + SG + SF + SF2 + PF. No traditional centre — 4 perimeter players + 1 stretch power forward as "small five". More speed, more 3-point shooting, more spacing.
In Paak: Switchable in one click. Blocks go down, perimeter turnovers go up.

Frequently asked questions
Does Paak support the FIBA format (5v5, 4×10 min)?
Yes. 5 players on court, 4 quarters of 10 minutes (40 min total), unlimited substitutions. Natively configured, not retrofitted from another sport.
Is auto foul-out at 5 personal fouls triggered automatically?
Yes. Paak tracks the personal-foul counter per player. At the 4th, an alert appears. At the 5th, the player is automatically marked ejected from the match. Technical foul counts as 2, so 2 technicals = ejection.
Can 2-pointers, 3-pointers and free throws be scored separately?
Yes. Three distinct buttons on the tracker: +2, +3, and FT. Each action is attributed to the shooter and the team total calculates automatically. Post-game, Field Goal % is computed from shots attempted/made.
Are federation licences tracked?
Yes. Licence number, age category, referee grades (trainee to federal) and coach certifications. Adaptable to any national scheme (France: CQP, BPJEPS, DEJEPS). Automatic alert before expiry.
Are Standard and Small Ball lineups available?
Yes. The Standard lineup (PG/SG/SF/PF/C) is the default. The Small Ball lineup (PG/SG/SF/SF2/PF — no traditional centre) is one-click away for faster basketball with more outside shooters.
