Federation tools + Paak — complementary, not competing
Most national handball federations operate their own tools. In France, the FFHandball runs Gest'Hand for licences, league entries and the FDME (electronic match sheet, currently being redesigned), promotes MyCoach by FFHandball — free and official — for day-to-day team work (calendars, call-ups, messaging), and bundles HelloAsso inside Gest'Hand for fee-free licence payment. You keep them. Paak does not try to replace them — we cover what those tools don't: multi-sport, safeguarding compliance, non-licence payments, sponsors, in-match tactical scoring, individual performance.

FFHandball licence collection by card — no fees, no commission. Activated from inside Gest'Hand. Paak uses Mollie for everything the licence doesn't cover: tournaments, camps, training programmes, sponsors.

Handball is not just "football indoors"
Most "multi-sport" platforms model handball as football without goalposts, or basketball without hoops. Wrong. Handball has its own logic — and Paak encodes it natively.
7v7, not 11v11
6 outfield players + 1 goalkeeper. Goal area is a semicircle. Dense space, rapid transitions. Paak is built for 7 positions, not 11.
Suspensions in minutes, not cards
2-minute temporary exclusion. 3 x 2min stacks to a red card. Blue card (since 2016) for a written report. Paak follows this progression natively — it's not the football card system.
7m throw, not football-style penalty
Free throw from 7 metres, awarded when a foul denies a clear goal-scoring opportunity. Paak records 7m attempted, scored, and saved.
Licences and qualifications
Player licence number, age category, referee grade, coach certification. All tracked inside Paak — not in a separate spreadsheet.
Live scoring: goals, 7m, saves
During the match, one tap records a goal, a 7m throw (attempted / scored / saved), or a goalkeeper save. Every action is attributed to a player and consolidated into their profile at final whistle. No post-match spreadsheet entry, no paper scorecard.

Sanctions: minute-based progression
Handball does not work like football. Sanctions accumulate in minutes of temporary exclusion, not cards. Paak tracks the exact count per player and per team.

The 7 handball positions
Each position has its own statistics, its own physical profile type, and its own tactical role. Paak knows them.
Pre-configured defensive systems
The defensive choice shapes everything: pressing, block, recovery. Paak encodes the three main systems, plus the 7-outfield attacking variant.
Flat 6-0 Defence
6 defenders on the 6m line. Closed, pivot-proof defence. Ideal against a wing-heavy opponent.
In Paak: Default formation. Defensive stats: % shots stopped at 6m, pivot fouls.
5-1 Defence
5 defenders at 6m + 1 advanced at 9m (often on the opposing centre back). Closes long shots, forces inside play.
In Paak: Configurable formation. The advanced role is tagged as "9m defender".
3-2-1 Defence
3 staggered lines (3 + 2 + 1 advanced). High, aggressive defence — typical of Balkan handball. Recovery-demanding.
In Paak: Three lines traced. Key metric: fast breaks conceded.
7-outfield attack
Goalkeeper substituted for a 7th outfield player. Legal offensive overload since 2016. Risk: empty-net goal on turnover.
In Paak: "Attack +1" formation with a dedicated stat: empty-net goals conceded.

Dominant hand
Right, left, ambidextrous. Critical for back positions — a left-handed right back is a rare structural advantage.
Age category
U9 (mini-hand), U11, U13, U15, U17, U19, senior, veteran. Auto-assigned from date of birth + season.
Jersey number
1 to 99. History preserved season by season (a player can change numbers).
Federation licence
Licence number, issue date, expiry date. Automatic alert before expiry.
Height and reach
Relevant for backs (shot power) and goalkeepers (goal coverage).

Does Paak support the handball 7v7 format and 2 x 30min halves?
Yes. 7 players on court (6 outfield + 1 goalkeeper), 2 halves of 30 minutes for seniors, with shorter durations adapted for U9 through U19 age categories.
Are 2-minute suspensions and the disqualification count tracked?
Yes. Each 2-minute exclusion is timestamped and attributed to the player. The 3 x 2min counter automatically triggers a disqualification alert. The blue card (written report, since 2016) is tracked separately.
Can 7m throws and goalkeeper saves be scored live?
Yes. Each 7m is logged as attempted / scored / saved. Goalkeeper saves are categorised (foot, hand, diving) and consolidated into save-percentage-on-shots-faced.
Are federation licences tracked?
Yes. Licence number, expiry date, age category, referee grades (trainee to national) and coach certifications. Automatic alert before expiry.
Does Paak replace Gest'Hand, MyCoach by FFHandball or HelloAsso?
No. Gest'Hand remains the FFHandball's federal tool for licences, league play and the electronic match sheet. MyCoach by FFHandball is the federation's official free digital solution for day-to-day team work (calendars, call-ups, messaging) — you keep it if your club is 100% handball and that scope is enough. HelloAsso, integrated inside Gest'Hand, collects licence payments fee-free.
