Most of a club's volunteer needs match no session in the calendar. In Paak a slot can hang off a match or a training — or stand on its own, with its own times.

The right question: which function, not which status.
The duty covers supervisors — not the parent serving drinks. That is why the box is unticked by default: you tick it on supervisory slots only, and nothing else moves.

Less paperwork, not more.
Paak keeps no availability calendar. Nobody declares in advance which Saturdays they are free: the club publishes, members take what suits them. That is how a bar rota actually fills.
Paak runs no background check and certifies none. In France, federations transmit their licensees' data and the State services run the cross-check. Paak prepares the expected file, tracks each supervisor's status and warns before expiry — nothing more. What is stored is an attestation number and an expiry date; no scan of the document is kept.
There is no dedicated volunteer export yet: hours and slots are read, filtered and totalled on screen. The CSV export that exists covers supervisor background checks.
Volunteers, slots, roles and hours are included on the free plan. Automated attestation tracking — and therefore the enforced block on a slot marked "supervises minors" — arrives with Paak One (€29/month).

Do I have to declare someone as a volunteer before they can help?
No. The club publishes a slot, any member sees it in their member portal and signs up. The volunteer record is created the moment they say yes — there is no admin pre-step.
Does a volunteer need an account?
No. Your members open their portal from the personal link already in the club’s emails: no account, no password, nothing to install. The link is valid for 72 hours; once opened, the session stays active for 30 days on that device.
Can I publish a slot that matches no session?
Yes, and it is the most common case. "Tournament bar", "Saturday transport", "Stand setup" are neither trainings nor matches. Leave the session field empty: the slot stands on its own, with its own times.
How do I record hours after a tournament?
With batch entry: you pick the date and the role once, type a number of hours next to each name, and submit the whole list. Hours arrive pending and are approved — one by one or in bulk — by a club admin.
Should I ask every volunteer for a criminal-record extract?
No. The duty covers supervisory functions, not the act of helping: in France, sports educators (paid or voluntary), referees and judges, and operators of sports establishments — "notably association officers" per the Ministry of Sports. The parent running the bar is not a supervisor. That is why the "This slot supervises minors" box is unticked by default in Paak: you tick it only on the slots that need it.
