The 9 statistics · player rating

Every action carries weight in the player rating.

Paak assigns each stat a rating impact (from 0.5 to 3 points). Goals and saves carry the most weight; face-offs and hits weigh less, but count. The rating is computed match-by-match — readable, not opaque.

Goals
+3.0 Major
The defining event. Highest weight in the rating.
Assists
+2.0 Strong
Logged alongside the goal, in the same play sequence.
+/-
+1.0 Moderate
+1 for every on-ice goal for, −1 for every on-ice goal against.
Shots on goal
+0.5 Light
Offensive creation — credit, whether the shot scores or not.
Hits
+0.5 Light
Legal body contact — defensive + physical element of the game.
Blocked shots
+0.5 Light
Defensive sacrifice — saves a scoring chance.
Saves (goaltender)
+2.0 Strong
Goaltender metric — feeds the save percentage.
Shots against (goaltender)
0 Informational
Denominator of the save percentage (saves / shots against). Does not affect the rating.
Face-offs won
+0.5 Light
Centre metric — possession from the drop.
Penalties · the full hockey grid

Four levels. Four consequences. IIHF / SIHF compliant.

Hockey has a unique penalty system. Paak handles all four levels natively — each penalty is recorded live and attributed to the player, with a graduated impact on the player rating and automatic ejection on game misconduct. The penalty-bench clock stays with the scorekeeper's table.

2'
Minor penalty
Slashing, holding, hooking… 2 minutes shorthanded. Rating impact: −1.
5'
Major penalty
High stick, dangerous boarding, fighting. 5 minutes served in full. Rating impact: −3.
10'
Misconduct
Unsportsmanlike conduct, abuse of officials. 10 minutes but team stays at 5. Rating impact: −4.
M
Game misconduct
Ejection: the player leaves the ice. No rating for the match. Impact: −5.
Standard 5-on-5 formation

Six players on the ice. Each in their place inside Paak.

Default formation: 1 goaltender + 2 defenders + 3 forwards. During a match, penalties can take a team down to 3 skaters plus the goaltender — Paak handles these situations without crashing.

G
Goaltender
Save % aggregated across the season
LD
Left defender
Left side of the defensive + offensive zone
RD
Right defender
Right side — symmetric of LD
LW
Left wing
Attack on the left flank
C
Centre
Central player — face-offs (dedicated metric)
RW
Right wing
Attack on the right flank
SIHF · honest positioning

Paak complements the SIHF's tools. It does not replace them.

Your official competitions — National League, Sky Swiss League, MyHockey League, PostFinance Women's League — stay run by the Swiss Ice Hockey Federation. Paak handles what the SIHF does not.

What the SIHF does (and keeps doing): individual federal licences, official National League / Sky Swiss League / MyHockey League / PostFinance Women's League calendars, official rankings, refereeing, Swiss national teams, coach training.

What Paak adds (and the SIHF does not do): day-to-day club life between official matches — members and their fees in CHF, training-session attendance, individual statistics match after match, child-protection tracking with alerts, team and category-level communications, RSVP convocations, multi-team and multi-season under one dashboard.

SIHF is part of Paak's federation registry (code SIHF). When you validate your club's SIHF affiliation in Paak, a canonical licence type is generated automatically — nothing to reconfigure.

Child protection · Swiss approach

Sonderprivatauszug and automatic supervisor tracking.

Switzerland has no direct equivalent to the French law of 8 March 2024, but Swiss Olympic recommends the Sonderprivatauszug (special private extract from the criminal-records database) for any supervisor in regular contact with minors — under the joint Federal Office of Sport (FOSPO) and Swiss Olympic programme "No Sexual Harassment in Sport". Paak tracks this obligation at club level: obtainment date, expiry, alerts 30 / 14 / 7 days before the recommended renewal (by default every 5 years per Swiss sport-club standard practice — ZKS Zurich, Canton Basel-Landschaft —, configurable per club). No data leaves the nLPD-compatible perimeter — the EU is on the Swiss adequacy list, the OVHcloud-Gravelines hosting complies.

Frequently asked questions

Does Paak replace SIHF tools?

No. Paak is complementary. Your federal licences and official competitions (National League, Sky Swiss League, MyHockey League, PostFinance Women's League) stay with the SIHF. Paak handles what the SIHF does not: members, CHF payments, training-attendance, individual statistics, communications, Sonderprivatauszug tracking.

Which clubs is Paak suited for?

All: National League, Sky Swiss League, MyHockey League, regional amateur clubs, junior sections, women's teams. The Pro tier suits elite clubs that want a live tracker on every match. The One tier covers most MyHockey League and amateur clubs (up to 500 members).

Does the tracker work at the rink?

Yes. Paak runs on mobile browsers (iPhone / Android via Safari or Chrome) — nothing to install. Start the match from the bench and tap actions as they happen.

How does the Sonderprivatauszug tracking work?

Each supervisor has an obtainment date stored in Paak. Paak computes the renewal date (default: every 5 years per Swiss Olympic guidance, configurable per club) and sends alerts 30, 14, and 7 days before the necessary renewal — by email to the supervisor and a notification to the club board.

Does my data stay in Switzerland?

Not in Switzerland, but in the EU — on the Swiss adequacy list (OPDo Annex 1). Hosting at OVHcloud Gravelines (France), payments via Mollie (Netherlands), authentication via Hanko (Berlin), email via Brevo (Paris). nLPD-compatible, GDPR-native, compatible with federal and cantonal procurement standards.

Is TWINT available for membership fees?

CHF membership payments via Mollie are active. Adding TWINT as a payment method is being rolled out progressively on Paak's side — contact us if this is a blocker for your club.
