Cookie Policy — Switzerland

Last updated: 26 July 2026
Status: draft, pending legal review. This page is a faithful record of the cookies actually set by paak.club; it will be reviewed by counsel before we make an "nFADP-compliant" claim on the homepage again.

This page describes every cookie and comparable storage technology used by paak.club. It is addressed to visitors in Switzerland and follows the revised Federal Act on Data Protection (nFADP / FADP, SR 235.1), in force since 1 September 2023, and — where applicable — the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

What is a cookie?

A cookie is a small file that a website places on your device when you visit it. It lets the site remember information such as language preferences or your consent choice.

Paak also uses localStorage, a similar in-browser storage mechanism, to record your decision on the consent banner.

Our principle: no trackers without consent

No analytics cookie is set before you have explicitly agreed through the banner shown on your first visit. Only strictly necessary storage is active by default.

Note — voluntary over-compliance. Swiss law (Telecommunications Act Art. 45c and the FDPIC guideline of 3 February 2025 on cookies, expanded on 6 October 2025) permits an inform-and-opt-out regime by default for non-sensitive analytics cookies: it is enough to inform the person and give them the ability to refuse. Explicit prior consent is strictly required only where sensitive data or high-risk profiling is processed, or where the controller has chosen consent as the legal basis. For consistency with our French practice, and to offer every visitor the same standard, we voluntarily apply the CNIL's explicit opt-in regime here as well — this is over-compliance, not a Swiss legal minimum.

These cookies are set by our self-hosted Matomo instance at analytics.paak.club (OVHcloud server in Roubaix, France — the EU is listed in Annex 1 of the Data Protection Ordinance SR 235.11 as providing an adequate level of protection). No data whatsoever is sent to Google Analytics or to any US third party. Matomo is configured to anonymise IP addresses (last octet discarded) and to respect the "Do Not Track" signal.
