Cookie Policy (Switzerland)

Status: draft, pending legal review. This page is a faithful record of the cookies actually set by paak.club; it will be reviewed by counsel before we make an "nFADP-compliant" claim on the homepage again.

This page describes every cookie and comparable storage technology used by paak.club. It is addressed to visitors in Switzerland and follows the revised Federal Act on Data Protection (nFADP / FADP, SR 235.1), in force since 1 September 2023, and, where applicable, the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

What is a cookie?

A cookie is a small file that a website places on your device when you visit it. It lets the site remember information such as language preferences or your consent choice.

Paak also uses localStorage, a similar in-browser storage mechanism, to record your decision on the consent banner.

Our principle: audience measurement without cookies, cookies only with your consent

Paak counts the visits to paak.club with its own Matomo instance, hosted in France, without setting a cookie or reading anything on your device (no screen size, no plugin list before your consent) until you accept analytics cookies: anonymised IP address (the last two bytes are erased before anything is stored), pages viewed, browser type, where the visit came from. This measurement meets the conditions of the consent exemption for audience-measurement tools in the French CNIL guidelines (deliberation No. 2020-091 of 17 September 2020, article 5) and its page « Cookies : solutions pour les outils de mesure d'audience » (updated 4 July 2025): a purpose limited to measuring the audience of this one site for its publisher, no cross-referencing with other processing, no transmission to third parties, raw data kept 25 months at most, a tracker limited to 13 months. Legal basis: our overriding interest in knowing how the site is used (FADP Art. 31(1); for EU visitors, GDPR Art. 6(1)(f)). You can object at any time (FADP Art. 30(2)(b); GDPR Art. 21) with the button in the section « How to manage your consent ».

Cookies only arrive with your consent: if you accept analytics cookies through the banner, Matomo sets an identifier of 13 months at most to recognise your next visits. If you refuse, the measurement stays cookieless. No advertising cookie, no third-party tracker, ever.

Swiss law. The Telecommunications Act (Art. 45c) and the FDPIC guideline of 3 February 2025 on cookies (expanded on 6 October 2025) require that you be informed and able to refuse: this page informs you, the button in the section « How to manage your consent » stops any measurement, and cookies only arrive with your consent. On top of that we apply, for every visitor, the conditions of the French CNIL's audience-measurement exemption: anonymised IP address, no cross-referencing, no transmission, 25 months at most.

Advertising, social networks, personalisation

None. Paak uses no advertising cookies, no Facebook pixel, no social-media cookies and no US third-party scripts.

You can change or withdraw your consent at any time in three ways:

If you believe your rights are not being respected, you can lodge a complaint with the Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC / EDÖB / PFPDT), Feldeggweg 1, 3003 Bern (edoeb.admin.ch). Data breaches can be reported through the portal at edoeb.admin.ch/en/databreach-2.
