The software for Swiss fencing
Paak already manages your members, CHF and TWINT payments, and teams. For the FSE (Fédération Suisse d'Escrime / Schweizerischer Fechtverband), it goes further: three weapons (foil, epee, sabre), categories U10 to Veterans 40+, multi-section, parent communications. Complementary to Ophardt Online (worldwide fencing specialist), never a substitute.
FSE IT architecture — Paak complementary
The FSE operates on Ophardt Online (vendor Ophardt Team Sportevent, Germany, worldwide fencing specialist) at fencing.ophardt.online. Included in FSE affiliation. Full FIE-aligned IT stack: member management, licence ordering (national, EFC European, FIE international), event registration, payments, results. Live tournament scoring via Ophardt Touch, worldwide results aggregation via Fencing Worldwide (same vendor). You keep Ophardt. Paak does not try to replace it.
Stays in Ophardt Online
Member management, licence ordering, event registration, payments, results. Worldwide fencing specialist. FIE-aligned. You keep it as is.
Public API: restricted
A docs.ophardt.online page exists but returns 403 (auth). An endpoint api.fencingworldwide.com without public docs. No open access. Bridge today: CSV import.
What Paak adds
Multi-section (a fencing club + other sports), Mollie payments in CHF + TWINT outside the licence (dues, camps, training courses, sponsors), parent communications, club accounting, individual performance (attendance rate, training statistics per weapon), volunteers.
Honest position
Small federation (52 clubs). Deep Ophardt integration = low-priority on Paak side. Paak operates on the club-management layer that Ophardt does not cover deeply (CHF, parents, club accounting, multi-section).
Three weapons, three rule sets
Foil
Touch with point only. Valid target: torso. Right of way (priority). Most played in juniors.
Epee
Touch with point only. Valid target: whole body. No right of way, double touches possible.
Sabre
Touch with point and edge. Valid target: upper body. Right of way (priority). Very fast bouts.
Paak handles the three weapons as distinct sub-disciplines at SportUIConfig level. Tag per athlete of the main weapon (an epeeist may also practice foil, for example). Important: Paak does not do electronic-touch live scoring — that stays in Ophardt Touch. Paak tracks club practice and training, not the live touch.
Swiss fencing specifics
Categories U10 to Veterans 40+
U10, U12 (Circuit Lemanique), U14/Minimes, U17/Cadets, U20/Juniors, Senior, Veterans 40+. All weapons from U14. Source verified swiss-fencing.ch 2026-05-07.
Three licences (national / EFC / FIE)
National licence, EFC (European Fencing Confederation), FIE (international, Olympic). Ophardt Online manages ordering of the three. Paak does not re-implement licensing — that stays in Ophardt.
No mandatory medical certificate
Swiss norm, requiresMedicalCert: false in the SportUIConfig CH (Session 212 Commit 7). Consistent with the Swiss grassroots practice. Each club can track its own youth validations if relevant.
52 clubs, niche market
FSE founded 24 January 1914 (Ittigen, Haus des Sports), president Max Heinzer (since 2024), Swiss Olympic member. Total licensed fencers not published. Small market — explains Ophardt's specialised position as the worldwide sport vendor.
