The software for Swiss BJJ academies

Paak already manages your practitioners, CHF and TWINT payments, and scheduling. For Swiss BJJ, it tackles the on-the-ground reality: no single federation, no centralised IT. Belt tracking 5 belts + IBJJF stripes, weight classes, multi-sections. You're independent — Paak comes with you.

The reality of BJJ in Switzerland — fragmented governance

Swiss BJJ has no single federation. At least 4 competing organisations coexist: SBJJNF (Swiss Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu National Federation), SJJA (Swiss Jiu-Jitsu Association), ISCBJJ Swiss chapter, ADCC Suisse (submission grappling). None is a Swiss Olympic member. The SJV (judo + traditional Japanese ju-jitsu) does NOT cover Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. The IBJJF (international parent) is also not IOC-recognised. Consequence: no centralised mandatory registration, no unified API, no federation IT to replace.

No federation IT to replace

No Fairgate, no Sportdata, no Sports-ID on the BJJ side. You start from zero with Paak.

Fast-growing sport

BJJ is a fast-growing sport in Switzerland with numerous academies / gyms. No unified licensing: first-mover opportunity for Paak as the academy management platform.

Standalone academy management

Paak is the only tool you need for academy management. Membership, CHF/TWINT dues, communications, scheduling, performance, accounting.

Multi-section (BJJ + No-Gi + MMA)

Many BJJ academies also practice No-Gi, MMA, Luta Livre. Paak manages multiple sections under one subscription.

BJJ specifics in Paak

5 adult belts (16+)

Standard BJJ adult progression: White → Blue → Purple → Brown → Black. Stripes 0-4 per belt, awarded by the instructor. Paak tracks progression at the athlete profile with award date.

IBJJF youth belts (4-15 years)

For youths: White, Grey, Yellow, Orange, Green (with stripes). Paak supports both systems (youth + adult) without friction. Automatic transition at 16 per IBJJF rules.

IBJJF weight classes

Galo, Pluma, Pena, Leve, Medio, Meio-Pesado, Pesado, Super-Pesado, Pesadissimo supported at SportUIConfig level. Weigh-ins tracked at the athlete profile with date.

Instructor grading, not federation

Important: BJJ does not work via federation exams. The instructor (typically the black belt heading the academy) awards belts and stripes. Paak respects that reality — each academy keeps its own register.

Stripes: 0-4 stripes per belt (except certain academy protocols). No mandatory Swiss federation framework. No medical certificate required at grassroots level (Swiss norm, requiresMedicalCert: false in SportUIConfig CH).
